Our Acupuncture and Qigong Services

Whether looking for private treatment or if you have a current ACC claim, at Inner Glow Acupuncture, we offer a range of services to suit your differing needs.

Acupuncture: our acupuncture treatments include an in-depth initial consultation. Here we discuss your main area of concern or focus for the treatment, your health history and goals for the treatment. Different examination techniques are used such as looking at your pulse and tongue (to see what is going on inside) and muscle testing for injuries. We then make a traditional Chinese medical diagnosis, organise a treatment plan, treatment principles and set about putting you back in balance.

Every patient is different and therefore no two treatments are the same. Depending on what is going on for you, we select the most appropriate treatment to fit the patient and go from there. You are not a number…therefore, why treat you like one?

Acupuncture Treatments:

Include acupuncture needling, which is the insertion of sterile singe use needles into specific acupuncture points along the body. This is gentle, effective and relaxing. Depending on your requirements, your therapist may employ the use of cupping (stationary or moving suction cups placed on the body to relieve stagnation and tension), tuina (traditional Chinese massage techniques), guasha (a form of skin scraping to move and rebalance connective tissue), electro-acupuncture (gentle electrical stimulation combined with needles), moxa (traditional warming herbal application) ear seeds and qigong (energy balancing).

Qigong Treatments:

Qigong, otherwise known as the mastery of the movement of Qi, is a wonderful aspect of traditional Chinese medicine. Based on the same principles of acupuncture, medical qigong treatments work to restore energetic balance in the body to affect mind, body and spirit. This relaxing treatment can be used in addition to Acupuncture, or, on its own.

Cupping Treatments:

The application of warm cups to the body, to promote blood flow, ease muscular and fascial tension, ease pain and promote wellbeing. Cupping can be used in addition to other traditional Chinese medical techniques such as acupuncture.
